I have bachelor's of science degrees in physics and mathematics and a master's degree in physics. I am working on my Ph. D. in physics. I plan to finish up my Ph. D. by the end of 2007 and get a job on being a quantatative analyst for a brokerage firm hopefully in Chicago, but possibly on Wallstreet. I am considering getting a master's in finance concurrently with my Ph. D. in physics. I personally love science, but I don't think I have the personal drive to go forward with something I cannot make a lot of money with. I have published 2 articles in well known journals and will hopefully publish 2-3 more before the end of the spring. I have been ranked in the top 10% of teachers at the UIUC by the students 5 times.

I currently play poker as a hobby. I think it makes a rather nice hobby for me, since I make a little money at it (and as time goes on, hopefully a little more money). My favorite form of poker is currently Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Low Split with an eight or better qualifier on the low (complicated title and game, go find the rules elsewhere if you care) typically refered to as Pot Limit Omaha/8 (said, "pot limit omaha eight") or PLO8 for really short. As you can see I am a huge fan of stuffing in comments in parentheses (but who isn't?).

I have a wife, a 10 month old son with club feet (hopefully soon to be straight), and 4 year old daughter. For pets we have 2 bassett hounds, 1 cocker spanial, and 1 himalayan cat.
